What is SDPI and why is it in news after Kerala hijab row?
Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), formed in 2009, is widely seen as political front of banned Popular Front of India. It is in news after a hijab-wearing student was allegedly denied entry to a Christian-run school in Kerala, with SDPI accused of backing student's family and creating a ruckus. The party claims to work for empowerment of marginalised communities.
