A 75-year-old Canadian woman, who was blind for 10 years, regained her vision after undergoing a rare 'tooth-in-eye' surgery, which involved implanting her own tooth in her eye socket. First, the patient's tooth is implanted in the cheek for months, then a lens is inserted in the tooth, following which it's placed in eye socket, Ophthalmologist Dr Greg Moloney said.
