What is Tree Man Syndrome?
Epidermodysplasia Verruciformis, commonly known as Tree Man Syndrome, is a rare inherited disorder. It causes wart-like lesions or reddish-brown scaly patches on the skin of the face, neck, hands, arms, legs, feet, and trunk. The syndrome is caused by mutations in EVER1/TMC6 or EVER2/TMC8 genes, making people susceptible to chronic infection with certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV).
