US government is heading towards a potential shutdown over a standoff regarding funding bills for government agencies. If the US Congress fails to pass the bills, essential employees will be required to continue working without pay while non-essential employees will be furloughed. Essential employees include those working at ATC, federal law enforcement agencies and federally-funded hospitals.
