When does bank account become dormant & how can one reactivate it?
If there is no customer-initiated activity in a bank account for ten continuous years, banks classify such accounts as dormant. To reactivate the account, one needs to visit the home branch and update KYC with Aadhaar, PAN, and passport-size photograph. Banks may ask for a small deposit/withdrawal to show activity, after which the account is reactivated in a few days.
