According to World Gold Council data, US holds the most gold reserves, at 8,133 tonnes worth $1 trillion. Germany, Italy and France rank next with 3,350 tonnes ($412 billion), 2,451 tonnes ($301 billion) and 2,437 tonnes ($299 billion) of gold reserves, respectively. Russia, China and India rank fifth, sixth and seventh with 2,329 tonnes, 2,303 tonnes and 880 tonnes.
