Who is 'batwoman' Shi Zhengli, who led study that found new bat coronavirus?
Dr Shi Zhengli graduated from China's Wuhan University in 1987, as per the American Society for Microbiology. Shi, also known as "batwoman" for her research on bat coronaviruses, was the first to create a customised coronavirus receptor that could help develop new drugs. Chinese scientists led by Shi recently discovered a new bat coronavirus that could infect humans.
