Sam Pitroda, aged 82, has resigned as Indian Overseas Congress Chairman. Based in Chicago, he has been associated with Congress since ex-PM Indira Gandhi's time. He was ex-PM Rajiv Gandhi's advisor and is often called Rahul Gandhi's mentor. Pitroda's website says he is entrepreneur and policy maker. He has said, "East Indians resemble Chinese, South Indians look like Africans".
