Why are young people paying companies to 'pretend to work' in China?
A trend wherein unemployed youths are paying companies up to 50 yuan (about ₹600) to pretend to work at their offices is rising in some Chinese cities, BBC reported. Most people reportedly use the time to search for jobs or do freelance work. "What I'm selling isn't a workstation, but...dignity of not being...useless person," one such company's owner said.
