Why does Vice President of India earn ₹4 lakh a month despite zero salary?
The Vice President of India, the second-highest Constitutional office in the country, is the only post that does not enjoy the benefits of a regular salary. The VP is entitled to ₹4 lakh monthly remuneration as the ex-officio Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. The VP enjoys several perks and allowances such as free accommodation, medical care, train and air travel.
