Why India plans to guard Malacca Strait, one of busiest sea lanes?
India is seeking to join Malacca Straits Patrol (MSP), securing Singapore's backing. A narrow, vital passage for global shipping that connects Andaman Sea (Indian Ocean) with South China Sea (Pacific Ocean), it serves as a corridor for about 40–50% of global trade by tonnage. It is also a key route for China's energy imports from the Middle East and Africa.
