Black rice has several health benefits. It has positive effects against constipation, carcinogenesis, tumour, coronary heart disease, inflammations, type 2 diabetes, anaemia, obesity etc, according to a study published in ScienceDirect. Apart from containing the pigment anthocyanin, it also contains iron, calcium, selenium, zinc, Vitamin B complex, Vitamin E, proteins and fibres.
