Why was Australia's target 131 even though India scored 136 in 1st ODI?
The first India-Australia ODI in Perth was reduced to 26 overs per side due to frequent rain interruptions. India lost early wickets and batted through changing over limits which lowered their resource percentage under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method. Since Australia started with full 26 overs and all wickets in hand, their adjusted fair target came to 131 runs.
