Why was Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar called 'The Butcher of Khan Younis'?
Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, whom Israel killed, was born in a refugee camp in Gaza's Khan Younis in 1962. He was arrested in late 1980s by Israel and he admitted to killing 12 suspected collaborators which got him the nickname 'The Butcher of Khan Younis'. He was sentenced to four life terms for crimes including murder of two Israeli soldiers.
