Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah had warned members not to carry cell phones as Israel could use them to track the group's movements. Hezbollah members were using outdated pagers as a low-tech means of communication in an attempt to evade Israeli location-tracking. Pagers, which receive and display numeric or text messages, rely on radio signals instead of cellular towers.
