Why will NISAR not work for the first 90 days after launch?
ISRO-NASA's first Earth observation mission, NISAR, set to launch on July 30, will not start operations immediately and will instead undergo a 90-day In-Orbit Checkout phase. During this phase, engineers will activate its systems step by step, test communications, and precisely calibrate its L-band and S-band radars to ensure accuracy. Once it is fully prepared, NISAR will begin mapping Earth.
