Willing to work with US on return to 1974 deal with Israel: Syria
Syria said it is willing to cooperate with US to reimplement 1974 disengagement agreement with Israel, which created a UN-patrolled buffer zone separating the two countries' forces. After Syria's ex-President Bashar al-Assad was ousted, Israel launched hundreds of airstrikes on military targets, carried out incursions deeper into southern Syria and also stationed troops at the buffer zone.
