A 45-year-old British woman has been diagnosed with grade 2 meningioma, which accounts for around 30% of all brain tumours that originate in the meninges, the outer three layers of tissue between the skull and the brain that cover and protect the brain just under the skull. A brain tumour is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in under-40s.
