WPI inflation turns negative in October on cheaper food
India's Wholesale Price Index (WPI) inflation likely fell to -1.42% in October 2025, driven by easing food prices and a high base effect, according to Union Bank of India. Vegetable prices hit record lows, while fuel inflation remained deflationary for the 15th consecutive month. The bank projects WPI inflation to stay below 0.5% in FY26 amid global uncertainties.
