Crows allow ants to deliberately crawl on them and even bite them because of a behaviour called anting. While this behaviour has been documented many times, it is not completely understood. Some theories say that crows do that as ants release formic acid, which kills or drives away mites, lice and other parasites on the crow's feathers.
