India's 18-year-old Grandmaster Gukesh D on Thursday defeated China's Ding Liren to win World Chess Championship 2024. Gukesh and Ding will get $200,000 (around ₹1.7 crore) for each win in the 14-game championship, and $1.5 million (₹12.7 crore) would be split equally between the two. Gukesh will get a total prize money of $1.35 million (₹11.45 crore).
