The Kerala government has declared public holidays on December 9 and December 11 for all public offices and educational institutions due to the local body elections. Additionally, commercial undertakings have been instructed to grant paid holidays to their employees. Elections for 1,199 out of the 1,200 local bodies are scheduled on these dates, with the counting set for December 13.
