India's urban unemployment rate dropped to 6.4% in July-September 2024, according to the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) released by the government on Monday. It's the lowest unemployment rate in Indian cities since the survey's initiation in 2018-19. The urban unemployment rate was 6.6% in April-June 2024. Male unemployment rate fell to 5.7%, while female unemployment rate dropped to 8.4%.
