Ex-India hockey player Ashish Ballal, backing hockey women's team ex-coach Harendra Singh, called misbehaviour allegations against Harendra "absolute rubbish and trickery". He said the resignation was attempt to sabotage Indian hockey, adding, "We know Harendra's unwavering passion...dedication and genuine love for players and progress of Indian hockey." Harendra resigned citing personal reasons.
