Hari Mukund Panda, who built Andhra Pradesh's Venkateswara Swamy Temple where a stampede occurred, called the incident an "act of god", saying nobody was responsible for it. "We allowed people to have darshan, and the police helped us. They tried to control the mob. What could we do?" the 94-year-old added. At least nine people were killed in the incident.
