JD(U) candidate and don-turned-politician Anant Singh won from Bihar's Mokama assembly constituency. Singh has handed over defeat to RJD's Veena Devi, the wife of Surajbhan Singh, the long-time rival of Anant, by over 28,000 votes. Anant, who won in 2020, was recently arrested in the murder of a Jan Suraaj party supporter and has been in judicial custody ever since.
