Centre will temporarily slow down renewable energy (RE) tenders till FY26-27 as India is generating more green power than it can absorb, Moneycontrol reported, citing MNRE Secretary Santosh Kumar Sarangi. Centre will reassess its 50GW annual auction strategy. Certain projects without scope for power purchase agreements (PPAs) because they are based on plain-vanilla RE projects, will be cancelled.
