Comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) broke into three pieces after swinging too close to the Sun. Astronomers captured it using Italy's Copernicus telescope. Two big chunks drifted about 2,000 km from each other, with smaller third piece to the left of the pair. Reports indicate that the comet's nucleus became unstable after it passed close to the Sun on October 8.
