A 19-year-old was arrested in New Zealand for a wide-scale sophisticated scam to collect personal details from people's phones. The police said they had never encountered a scam like this before, which involved sending hundreds of fraudulent messages using an SMS Blaster. These messages purporting to be from banks tricked people into sharing information like passwords and credit card details.
