BJP accused the CM Mamata Banerjee-led government of ignoring North Bengal after heavy rains led to floods and landslides killing over 30 people. "For 14 years, Chor Mamata has neglected North Bengal...she allocated a mere ₹866 crore for the development of North Bengal while assigning ₹5,602 crore for madrasa and minority affairs," the party said. BJP called Banerjee anti-West Bengal.
