India has signed a 15-year deal with the International Seabed Authority to explore 10,000 sq km in the Carlsberg Ridge of the Indian Ocean for polymetallic sulphides, MoS for Earth Sciences, Jitendra Singh said. These minerals, rich in copper, zinc, silver, and gold, are key to clean energy and technology. India now holds rights for both polymetallic nodules and sulphides.
