US President Donald Trump has declined to approve $400 million in funding towards Taiwan's military amid US' ongoing trade talks with China. The aid package was designed to bolster Taiwan's defences against China amid increased safety threats. Notably, Taiwan doesn't have a defence treaty with US, but the latter is legally obligated to provide Taiwan with means to defend itself.
