Michelin-starred sushi restaurateurs Onodera Group said it paid $1.3 million (over ₹11 crore) for a tuna fish on Sunday, the second highest price ever paid at an annual prestigious New Year auction. The fish, roughly the size of a motorbike, weighed 276 kg. "The first tuna is something meant to bring in good fortune," Onodera official Shinji Nagao said.
