Google, the tech firm Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded in August 1998, celebrated its 27th birthday on September 27. Stanford graduate Sean Anderson, who was present when Page and Brin were brainstorming the company's name, suggested 'googolplex' (defining a colossal number). They landed on 'google' after Sean searched if the domain 'googol.com' was available and mistakenly typed 'google.com'.
