J&K CM Omar Abdullah called activist Sonam Wangchuk's arrest "unfortunate" and said the way central government has been after him since yesterday it seemed something like this would happen. "They (Ladakhis) were made promises, just like we were. Now I don't understand what compels central government to backtrack on them," he added. People in Ladakh are protesting to demand statehood.
