BMC has started on-ground work on package B of Coastal Road’s phase II, connecting Versova to Bhayandar. Additional municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar said trenching began last week for overground section outside coastal regulation zone. The BMC received stage 1 clearance in June from Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for mangrove diversion for Versova-Bhayander project.
