Mumbai witnessed peaceful Lord Ganesh idol immersions with more than 5,400 idols submerged. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, 5,297 household idols, 108 from public mandals and 8 Hartalika idols were among those immersed. A BMC official noted that "no untoward incident was reported from the city during this process".
