Five policemen have been arrested and a judicial enquiry has been launched after a security guard, detained in a theft case, allegedly died in police custody in Tamil Nadu’s Sivaganga. The state government has also placed the Sivaganga police chief under "compulsory wait" (not assigned a post or duty) following the incident. Six police personnel were suspended on June 28.
