Doctors may be exempt from US President Donald Trump's ₹88 lakh fee for H-1B visa applications, White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers said in an email to Bloomberg. This comes after some medical bodies called out the risk to rural US where there is already a shortage of providers. US had clarified the new fee is applicable to only new visas.
