A court in Coimbatore convicted all the nine men accused of sexually assaulting several women in Tamil Nadu's Pollachi. The convicts, who sexually assaulted at least nine women, were charged with rape, gang rape, blackmail, criminal conspiracy and sexual harassment. They have been in judicial custody since their arrest in 2019. The crimes occurred between 2016 and 2018.
