Group of Ministers (GoM) on GST rate rationalisation has proposed creation of a new GST slab of 35%, raising the upper limit of GST from 28%, reports said. GoM recommended the increased tax rate for 'sin' products, which include aerated beverages, cigarettes and tobacco. The new slab would be apart from existing four slabs of 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%.
