NASA's Perseverance rover has found an unusual boulder, dubbed 'Phippsaksla' beyond Jezero Crater on Mars. Early analysis shows it is rich in iron and nickel, materials typically linked with metallic meteorites and the cores of ancient asteroids. The finding suggests this striking 80-centimetre rock may not be a native Martian rock but has travelled through space and landed on Mars.
