A Qantas flight which took off from Australia's Sydney landed safely in New Zealand's Auckland on Friday after pilots issued a 'mayday' call over a possible fire in the cargo hold. Emergency services responded at Auckland airport, but no smoke or injuries were reported. The alarm, raised an hour before landing, was found to be a false alarm.
