Opposition parties in Pakistan, led by Imran Khan's PTI under the Tehreek-e-Tahafuz Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) alliance, have announced nationwide protests from Sunday against the 27th Constitutional Amendment. The amendment grants wider powers to Army Chief General Asim Munir by creating a new post, the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF). TTAP said the move would shake the Constitution's foundations.
