Indian Railways reduced advance reservation period for train tickets from 120 to 60 days due to 'no show' trend. It said that 21% reservations done for 61 to 120 day periods were getting cancelled and 5% passengers were neither cancelling their tickets, nor undertaking the journey. Improving ticket availability and reduction in cancellations were also reasons for the change.
