Centre is likely to consider a proposal for increasing quantity of products available in ₹5, ₹10 and ₹20 pouches as legitimate form of price reduction under GST rate cuts, NDTV Profit reported. These products include biscuits, snacks, soaps and shampoo pouches. The firms proposed grammage increase as they believe a reduction in MRPs could disrupt pricing architecture and promotional strategies.
