An 80 year-old Japanese woman has lost approximately 1 million yen (around ₹6 lakh) to an online fraudster who convinced her he was an astronaut. The victim met the scammer on social media. After some exchanges, the scammer told her he was "under attack and in need of oxygen" and urged her to transfer money to help him buy oxygen.
