The redevelopment plans for Khilafat House in Byculla have sparked concerns about preservation of structures, including a grave believed to be that of Amjadi Begum, wife of Maulana Muhammad Ali. The Khilafat House compound includes prayer hall, an institute, and offices of All India Khilafat Committee, which plans to construct multi storey building for CBSE school and a BEd college.
