In Pimpri-Chinchwad, police detained an accused, Pavan Devendra Baneti of the Baba Shaikh gang, who was out on bail under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act. Baneti, who had been externed from Pune District, was found with two pistols and live cartridges. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Shivaji Pawar, the arrest occurred during an illegal arms identification drive.
