China is constructing the world's largest artificial island airport, the Dalian Jinzhouwan International Airport, to boost regional trade and connectivity. Spanning 20 square kilometres, it will feature four runways and a 900,000-square-metre terminal. Set for completion by 2035 at a cost of $4.3 billion, the airport will eventually handle up to 80 million passengers annually.
